ASL in Space!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Did you know that on July 22, 2010, for the very first time, an ASL message
\nwas sent from space to audiences here on Earth? See below\u2026<\/p>\n

Message from space<\/p>\n

NASA Astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson sends an ASL message from the
\nInternational Space Station answering questions about her work on the
\nstation and how she learned sign language.<\/p>\n

Tracy Caldwell Dyson, NASA Astronaut fluent in American Sign Language, made
\nher launch to the ISS (International Space Station) on April 2, 2010.<\/p>\n

Note: NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell is fluent in a conversational
\n(intermediate) level of American Sign Language. So far, she is the only NASA
\nastronaut to claim this ability and we look forward to NASA making use of
\nher knowledge of ASL.<\/p>\n

Caldwell has a PhD in chemistry. She is also the only member in the current
