Your workshop\u00a0facilitator Keith Wann is all over the internet and Youtube performing\u00a0music, some with comedy, some a little more serious, but all tell a story.\u00a0He also interprets music on Broadway and for Universal Studios. along with a\u00a0monthly ASL music club for subscribers.  Come learn, observe and discuss the\u00a0process that happens when a song is listened to, the story is found, and ASL\u00a0is combined to create a visual representation for the ASL Community.\u00a0Examples of work will be shared, some interpreting will be discussed, but\u00a0the focus in on performing.  Group work will allow participants to practice\u00a0in a safe environment and see their stories come to live on their hands\u00a0while rockin&#8217; the tunes! One interpreter may interpret a concept completely differently\u00a0than you do. This workshop focuses on harnessing the ability to create a\u00a0beautiful ASL interpretation of an English text that bridges both the\u00a0cultural and linguistic gap while respecting each individual\u2018s \u201cpicture\u201d.\u00a0(Prices Below)<\/p>\n<p>Deaf Parents Form Discussion 12\/4\/10 9AM &#8211; 12PM (No CEUs awarded) OSU-OKC\u00a0Presidents Suite Third Floor Student Center BuildingAimed at Deaf parents\u00a0with hearing children, 18 and under, to help parents get insightful\u00a0information to encourage their child&#8217;s identity when it includes two\u00a0cultures. Giving parents resources, networking and anecdotes about what it&#8217;s\u00a0like to live in a Deaf household and maneuver the hearing world. We will\u00a0address common questions like, &#8220;why isn&#8217;t my child signing yet?&#8221; &#8220;Why won&#8217;t\u00a0my teenager tell me who they are talking to on the phone?&#8221; Other items will<br \/>\ninclude how to approach school officials about the dynamic of your family\u00a0and how to handle when strangers talk to your child without your permission.<\/p>\n<p>*Disclaimer, this workshop will not tell you how to parent or the secrets of\u00a0parenting, if you know the secret please share with the presenter. Keith tours around the ASL Nation performing both of his one man shows \u201cWatching Two Worlds Collide\u201d. \u00a0Keith has gone Hollywood and was filmed in some PEPSI commercials to build hype for the &#8220;Bob&#8221; commercial. Keith has worked solo and in collaboration with other great ASL artists bringing to stage Coda stories, Deaf culture, Improv, and Sketch comedy.
