Suspected Bank Robber May Be Deaf, Mute<\/strong><\/p>\n

Teller says suspect motioned he couldn’t hear<\/p>\n

HOUSTON – A suspected bank robber had nothing to say to a bank teller in
\nnorthwest Houston \u2013 possibly because it was impossible for him to say
\nanything.<\/p>\n

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is on the lookout for a man who may be deaf
\nand mute.<\/p>\n

The suspect entered a Chase bank in the 12210 block of FM 1960 West around
\n12:25 p.m. and gave a bank teller a threatening demand note, according to a
\nHouston Crime Stoppers statement.<\/p>\n

The bank teller tried to talk with the suspect, but the suspect motioned he
\ncould not hear.<\/p>\n

The suspect also appeared to be unable to speak. Because of this, the bank
\nteller told investigators the man may have been deaf and mute.<\/p>\n

After providing the cash, the suspect fled the bank on foot in an unknown
\ndirection.<\/p>\n

No one was physically hurt in the incident. No weapon was directly observed,
\nbut witnesses tell investigators they saw a bulge in the man\u2019s waistband.<\/p>\n

Surveillance cameras captured pictures of the man during the robbery.<\/p>\n

The suspect is described as a black male, around 5\u20198\u201d to 5\u201910\u201d tall,
\nweighing about 160 to 170 pounds and has a dark complexion. He wore dark
\ncolored clothing during the robbery.<\/p>\n

A reward of up to $5,000 is available to anyone with information that could
\nlead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.<\/p>\n
