One of the most exciting events The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center provides
\nis our Deaf Awareness Week (DAW)! This is an annual week long celebration
\nof the many challenges the deaf and hard of hearing community have
\nlearned to overcome. We will kick off the week with a picnic, magic show
\nand fun activities for the whole family to enjoy! This will be held at
\nThe Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center on September 19th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00
\np.m. Activities scheduled for the rest of the week will include a parent
\npanel discussion, bowling, movie night, storytelling, an ASL contest and
\nan open house including a proclamation by City counsel woman, Chris Adler
\nand a presentation by Anna Jimenez, Nueces County District Attorney.
\nRefreshments will be provided. For information please call The Deaf and
