CAMP allows for:<br \/>\n&#8211; Community Building within the Deaf Community<br \/>\n&#8211; Discussions of Deafhood<br \/>\n&#8211; Educating the Deaf Impaired<br \/>\n&#8211; Mentoring the ASL Impaired<br \/>\n&#8211; and Much, Much More<\/p>\n<p>D.E.A.F. CAMP is for hearing persons interested in learning more about<br \/>\nAmerican Sign Language, Deaf Culture, and the Deaf Community. D.E.A.F. CAMP<br \/>\nis for:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; ASL Students (from basic to advanced conversational fluency)<br \/>\n&#8211; Interpreting Students<br \/>\n&#8211; Working Interpreters<br \/>\n&#8211; Kodas\/Codas<br \/>\n&#8211; Other Professionals working with the Deaf community<br \/>\n&#8211; Anyone wanting to learn American Sign Language<br \/>\n&#8211; Anyone who wants to learn more about the Deaf Community<\/p>\n<p>D.E.A.F. CAMP is a total immersion &#8220;silent weekend&#8221; conducted entirely in<br \/>\nAmerican Sign Language with training and learning opportunities that<br \/>\ninclude:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Visual\/Gestural Communication<br \/>\n&#8211; Numbering Systems in ASL<br \/>\n&#8211; Mouth Morphemes and other Non Manual Markers and Signals<br \/>\n&#8211; Sports Signs<br \/>\n&#8211; Exposure to Native ASL users, Deaf Culture, Deaf Community, and Deafhood<br \/>\n&#8211; and Much, Much More<\/p>\n<p>ENTERTAINMENT:<br \/>\nWindell &#8220;Wink&#8221; Smith<br \/>\n&#8220;Looking Up At Deaf Culture&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Keith Wann<br \/>\n&#8220;Hearing&#8230; Deaf&#8230; That!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Camp Whispering Pines is a 75 acre camp in Citronelle, Alabama offering fun<br \/>\nfor the whole family.<br \/>\n&#8211; Hiking<br \/>\n&#8211; Boating<br \/>\n&#8211; Paint Ball<br \/>\n&#8211; Ropes Course\/Climbing Wall<br \/>\n&#8211; Ping Pong<br \/>\n&#8211; Volleyball<br \/>\n&#8211; Basketball<br \/>\n&#8211; Carpetball<br \/>\n&#8211; and Much, Much More<\/p>\n<p>OCTOBER 1 &#8211; 3, 2010<\/p>\n<p>CAMP WHISPERING PINES<br \/>\n7740 UNION STREET<br \/>\nCITRONELLE, AL, 36522<\/p>\n<p>American Sign Language is the official language of the weekend.<br \/>\nThere will be no spoken languages allowed from participants.<br \/>\nThere is a 25 cent fine for speaking to communicate.<br \/>\nThe ASL Cops will be watching.<br \/>\nThis includes the Deaf participants as well.<br \/>\nWhether you are hearing or Deaf, if you use your voice to communicate&#8230;<br \/>\nYou will be fined 25 cents!
