is a Total Immersion “Silent Weekend” Promoting the Advancement of American
\nSign Language and the Deaf Community.<\/p>\n

D.E.A.F. CAMP is for the entire Deaf community! D.E.A.F. CAMP allows for:
\n– Community Building within the Deaf Community
\n– Discussions of Deafhood
\n– Educating the Deaf Impaired
\n– Mentoring the ASL Impaired
\n– and Much, Much More<\/p>\n

D.E.A.F. CAMP is for hearing persons interested in learning more about
\nAmerican Sign Language, Deaf Culture, and the Deaf Community. D.E.A.F. CAMP
\nis for:<\/p>\n

– ASL Students (from basic to advanced conversational fluency)
\n– Interpreting Students
\n– Working Interpreters
\n– Kodas\/Codas
\n– Other Professionals working with the Deaf community
\n– Anyone wanting to learn American Sign Language
\n– Anyone who wants to learn more about the Deaf Community<\/p>\n

D.E.A.F. CAMP is a total immersion “silent weekend” conducted entirely in
\nAmerican Sign Language with training and learning opportunities that
\ninclude:<\/p>\n

– Visual\/Gestural Communication
\n– Numbering Systems in ASL
\n– Mouth Morphemes and other Non Manual Markers and Signals
\n– Sports Signs
\n– Exposure to Native ASL users, Deaf Culture, Deaf Community, and Deafhood
\n– and Much, Much More<\/p>\n

\nThere is a 25 cent fine for speaking to communicate.
\nThe ASL Cops will be watching.
\nThis includes the Deaf participants as well.
\nWhether you are hearing or Deaf, if you use your voice to communicate…
