Artisan Center Theater announces its production of Harper Lee’s<\/strong><\/p>\n

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD will run October 1 \u2013 October 30, 2010 on Mondays,
\nTuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and twice on Saturdays.<\/p>\n

Hurst, Texas, September 20, 2010 \u2013 Artisan Center Theater proudly presents
\nHarper Lee’s TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD at its 150 seat theater-in-the-round. The
\ntheater is located in the old historic Belaire Plaza at 420 E. Pipeline
\nRoad. The daytime box office is located at 418 E. Pipeline Road. The show
\nruns Friday October 1 through Saturday October 30, 2010. Performances are at
\n7:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with 3pm matinees
\non Saturdays 10\/9, 10\/16, 10\/23, 10\/30\/2010. Reserved seating tickets are
\n$16.00 for adults, $14.00 for students and seniors, and $9.00 for children
\n12 and under. Monday through Thursday tickets are $12.00. The box office

\nOctober 5, 2010.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

About TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD:
\nIt is the summer of 1935 and Scout, a young girl in a quiet southern town,
\nis experiencing the dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life.
\nIn the rural American south during the depths of the Depression, she and her
\nbrother watch as their father takes a stand against intolerance. Based on
\none of the most touching and inspirational stories ever written.<\/p>\n

In this production the whole Leyva family takes center stage. Jason Leyva
\nplays Atticus; his two kids, Sadie and Zach, play Scout and Jem; his wife,
\nJenn, plays Miss Maudie.<\/p>\n

About the Director:
\nDennis Canright has not only directed at Artisan but has also appeared in
\nproductions there. Those productions include SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN as Uncle
\nStanley, THE ARK as Noah, THE MUSIC MAN as Harold Hill, I LOVE A PIANO, and
\nTHE FORGOTTEN CAROLS as Uncle John. He directed CINDERLLA, OKLAHOMA, and the
\nhighly praised and successful WEST SIDE STORY.<\/p>\n

People in the Cast:
\nJason Leyva (Atticus Finch) is originally from Oklahoma. He has been an
\nEntertainment Manager for Six Flags and the Director of Entertainment at the
\nDouble Resort in Michigan. Currently he is the Technical Director at
\nArtisan. He has preformed in\/directed and designed over 100 stage shows from
\nWashington D.C. to Dallas, Texas. His stage credits include the title role
\nin HAMLET, George in WHO\u2019S AFRAID OF VIRIGINA WOOLF, Treat in ORPHANS,
\nAustin in TRUE WEST, George in OF MICE AND MEN, as well as the independent
\nfilms DIRTY RED, THE ECSTASY OF GOLD and TEXAS TANGO.<\/p>\n

Seth Johnston (Atticus Finch) has worked every aspect of theater at a
\nvariety of Metroplex venues including Water Tower, Circle, Hip Pocket, Fort
\nWorth Theatre, Butterfly Connection, The Rose Marine, Runway, Pantagelize,
\nStage One, Theatre Arlington, and has produced \u201cweird\u201d shows under his own
\nmoniker, the PANTHER CITY PLAYERS at Arts Fifth Avenue. Seth\u2019s comic mystery
\ndinner group, The CrimeScene Company is in its eighth year of producing
\noriginal who-dun-whats across Texas. During the day and most nights, Seth
\nteaches theater at Eastern Hills High School.<\/p>\n

Sean Massey (Tom Robinson) played Hoke in Artisan’s 2008 production of
\nDRIVING MISS DAISY. Sean has also performed in the DFW Metroplex at Theater
\nArlington (ARSENIC AND OLD LACE), Jubilee Theater (PERMANENT COLLECTION),
\nand at Shakespeare Dallas (THEATER ON THE GO).<\/p>\n

Other actors include: Sadie Leyva and Rezana Kaba as Scout; Zach Leyva and
\nMatthew Pandolfo as Jem; Brandon Shreve and Isaac Jarrell as Dill.<\/p>\n
