Montgomery inmate found dead<\/strong><\/p>\n

CONROE, Texas \u2014 A Montgomery County jail inmate was found dead, hanging in
\nhis cell from a bed sheet tied to the bars.<\/p>\n

The Houston Chronicle reported Saturday that 39-year-old Earl Handy Jr. was
\ndiscovered early Friday. Deputies administered CPR before Handy was taken to
\nConroe Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Handy, who was deaf, was being housed in a segregation cell
\nfor medical reasons.<\/p>\n

Willis police had charged Handy with capital murder in the January stabbing
\ndeath of his wife, 34-year-old Donna Handy, and with aggravated assault in
\nthe knife attack on Joseph Taylor.<\/p>\n

The sheriff’s major crimes unit and the Texas Rangers are investigating the
\nhanging death.<\/p>\n
