{"id":1198,"date":"2007-02-08T14:14:39","date_gmt":"2007-02-08T19:14:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2007\/02\/08\/tsbvi-superintendent-vacancy-announcement\/"},"modified":"2007-02-08T14:14:39","modified_gmt":"2007-02-08T19:14:39","slug":"tsbvi-superintendent-vacancy-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2007\/02\/08\/tsbvi-superintendent-vacancy-announcement\/","title":{"rendered":"TSBVI Superintendent Vacancy Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired announces the vacancy of the position of Superintendent<br \/>\neffective summer, 2007 and invites applications from qualified candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>Education and certification<\/p>\n<p>* Master\u2019s degree.<br \/>\n* Completion of a university program in education of students with visual impairments.<br \/>\n* State certification in education of students with visual impairments.<\/p>\n<p>If applicant does not hold certification in teaching students with visual impairments, this requirement is met when the applicant holds the certification required to teach students with visual impairments in the applicant\u2019s state.<br \/>\nExperience<\/p>\n<p>* Three years teaching students with visual impairments.<br \/>\n* Experience in the administration of a program serving students with visual impairments.<br \/>\n* Experience managing the budget of an agency or a large program. <\/p>\n<p>Other skills, knowledge, and abilities<\/p>\n<p>* Knowledge of laws and rules related to special education, including IDEA and NCLB. <\/p>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications  <\/p>\n<p>* Education<br \/>\n* Doctoral degree.<\/p>\n<p>Experience<\/p>\n<p>* Five or more years teaching students with visual impairments.<br \/>\n* Five or more years as a supervisory administrator in a program for students with visual impairments.<br \/>\n* Experience with the legislative process and in the preparation of legislative budget requests.<br \/>\n* Special preference will be given to applicants with supervisory administrative experience in a residential school for students with visual impairments.<\/p>\n<p>Salary:  $91,250 \u2013 95,000 annually.  The Superintendent\u2019s salary is determined by the TSBVI Board of Trustees within a range established by the State of Texas legislature.  The maximum salary of the posted range is currently the legislative maximum.<\/p>\n<p>Housing:  On-campus housing may be available; please contact HR Director for additional information.<\/p>\n<p>To Apply:  Applicants are required to complete a State of Texas employment application and are welcome to submit resumes or other supporting materials.
