\"\"<\/a>Families come first. I have always placed the needs of our family first,
\nthroughout my various positions. Whether it be the needs of injured workers
\nand their families in the Texas Workers Compensation system, the federal
\nSocial Security Disability system, the needs of citizens from their
\ngovernmental agencies or the needs of victims and the rights of the
\ndefendants in our courtrooms. My philosophy has always been focused on the
\nfamily.<\/p>\n

I have enjoyed a rich and diverse employment history. I am a veteran and I
\nserved my country during the Vietnam War in the Air Force. My work
\nexperience ranged from international flight attendant, language instructor,
\nand motivational speaker including my tenure with the Texas Workers
\nCompensation Commission. The late Governor Ann Richards appointed me as one
\nof the Texas Quality Service facilitators, to guide state government
\nagencies with management issues.<\/p>\n

When most people were thinking about retirement, I was graduating from law
\nschool at the age of 50. During law school I had the privilege of interning
\nfor Justice Alma Lopez, researching law and issues for the justice.
\nThereafter, I served as a research assistant and law clerk. After becoming
\nan attorney, I represented clients in federal social security disability
\ncases. After establishing my own firm, I was appointed Municipal Court Judge
\nand then Bexar County Magistrate Judge.<\/p>\n

I have the experience both in life and in the courtroom, to handle the
\ndifficult cases that this court must decide. I am the best choice because I
\nwill always remember that families come first.<\/p>\n
