A Message from the President of the Dallas Association of the Deaf (DAD):<\/p>\n
Hello DAD members and friends!<\/p>\n
I am so excited to share with you that DAD is going to have many fun-filled activities this coming Saturday! (2\/17\/07)<\/p>\n
1. Saturday afternoon, the Dallas-Ft. Worth Area Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DFWADHHS) board will have their regular board meeting at the Dallas Association of the Deaf (DAD) from 4 to 6 pm. The board always welcome visitors to come and watch\/observe the meeting. No admission fees for this. Any questions? Please contact Marianne Sasseen, President, at sasseen70@aol.com.<\/p>\n
2. Mike Houston, from the DeafLink agency in San Antonio, will give a presentation, explaining to us about DeafLink – which is also known as VRI (Video Remote Interpreting). DeafLink may be another option to helping resolve some of our interpreter shortage issues in this area. Do come and learn more about DeafLink, from 6 to 8pm. No admission fees for Mr. Houston’s presentation. This presentation is co-sponsored by both DAD and DFWADHHS. Any questions? 3. Then the exciting part! CINGO will begin at 8:30pm. For those who want to participate, the admission is: $10.00 to play and $5.00 if not wish to play. (Note: members of DAD will received their CINGO prize in full while non-members only get 50%). <\/p>\n
FYI: The Dallas Bass Anglers of the Deaf will begin selling Philly Steak Subs, chips, iced tea and desserts at 6:00pm. <\/p>\n
For those of you, who are not members yet, do join! It is only ten dollars, per year, for Active members. An Associate membership is five dollars, for the year.<\/p>\n
