Here is additional information as follow-up<br \/>\nto the announcement posted on Deaf Network of Texas October 22, 2010 for the<br \/>\nCrime Prevention, Safety Fair &amp; Community Forum in Fort Worth. You don\u2019t<br \/>\nhave to live in Fort Worth to attend Saturday\u2019s event. Bring your family,<br \/>\nfriends, neighbors, parents, teachers, and all who support you. This is a<br \/>\nunique opportunity for Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments and the deaf<br \/>\nand hard of hearing community to learn from one another and develop a<br \/>\nrelationship that benefits the community and the City. We hope that what we<br \/>\nlearn will also benefit our neighbors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the Morning &#8211;<\/strong><br \/>\n* We will learn about Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments from Traffic to<br \/>\nFire Safety to SWAT to Gang Unit to Explorers for teens, programs for adults<br \/>\nand Victims Assistance.<br \/>\n* We will see Police and Fire demonstrations and a Police Cruiser and Fire<br \/>\nEngine up close.<\/p>\n<p><strong>During Lunch &#8211;<\/strong><br \/>\n* We can sit and talk with police officers and fire personnel and get to<br \/>\nknow them, and<br \/>\n* They can get to know members of the deaf and hard of hearing community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the Afternoon \u2013<\/strong><br \/>\n* We will join Chief Jeffrey Halstead in a meaningful discussion during the<br \/>\nfirst Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Forum. If you cross the light at White Settlement<br \/>\nRoad, which dead-ends into Woodward, you have gone too far.<\/p>\n<p>Crime Prevention, Safety Fair &amp; Community Forum &#8211; Saturday, November 13,<br \/>\n2010 &#8211; 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Fort Worth, Texas<\/p>\n<p>Background: In 2008 residents of Fort Worth gathered at \u201cLet\u2019s Talk Fort<br \/>\nWorth\u201d to share their concerns and suggestions for \u201cA Most Livable City.\u201d In<br \/>\nthe spirit of this honorable goal, the City of Fort Worth is taking steps to<br \/>\nimprove access to City government for the cross disability community,<br \/>\nincluding the deaf and hard of hearing community and those whose primary<br \/>\nlanguage is American Sign Language (ASL). \u201cA Most Livable City\u201d enables<br \/>\nresidents to participate, contribute, and enjoy access to businesses and<br \/>\nservices and to enjoy one another as neighbors. Our goal is for businesses,<br \/>\nnon-pro?ts and organizations across industries and government entities to<br \/>\nmodel the City of Fort Worth\u2019s example as they conduct business in Fort<br \/>\nWorth.
