Saturday, November 13, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Fort Worth, Texas<\/p>\n

Thank you for saving the date! Here is additional information as follow-up
\nto the announcement posted on Deaf Network of Texas October 22, 2010 for the
\nCrime Prevention, Safety Fair & Community Forum in Fort Worth. You don\u2019t
\nhave to live in Fort Worth to attend Saturday\u2019s event. Bring your family,
\nfriends, neighbors, parents, teachers, and all who support you. This is a
\nunique opportunity for Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments and the deaf
\nand hard of hearing community to learn from one another and develop a
\nrelationship that benefits the community and the City. We hope that what we
\nlearn will also benefit our neighbors.<\/p>\n

In the Morning –<\/strong>
\n* We will learn about Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments from Traffic to
\nFire Safety to SWAT to Gang Unit to Explorers for teens, programs for adults
\nand Victims Assistance.
\n* We will see Police and Fire demonstrations and a Police Cruiser and Fire
\nEngine up close.<\/p>\n

During Lunch –<\/strong>
\n* We can sit and talk with police officers and fire personnel and get to
\nknow them, and
\n* They can get to know members of the deaf and hard of hearing community.<\/p>\n

In the Afternoon \u2013<\/strong>
\n* We will join Chief Jeffrey Halstead in a meaningful discussion during the
\nfirst Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Forum. You are encouraged to share
\nyour concerns and suggestions to build supportive relationships.<\/p>\n

\nand Travel North across the river to Woodward Street then Turn Right to
\nCalvert Street straight ahead. If you cross the light at White Settlement
\nRoad, which dead-ends into Woodward, you have gone too far.<\/p>\n

Crime Prevention, Safety Fair & Community Forum – Saturday, November 13,
\n2010 – 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Fort Worth, Texas<\/p>\n

Background: In 2008 residents of Fort Worth gathered at \u201cLet\u2019s Talk Fort
\nWorth\u201d to share their concerns and suggestions for \u201cA Most Livable City.\u201d In
\nthe spirit of this honorable goal, the City of Fort Worth is taking steps to
\nimprove access to City government for the cross disability community,
\nincluding the deaf and hard of hearing community and those whose primary
\nlanguage is American Sign Language (ASL). \u201cA Most Livable City\u201d enables
\nresidents to participate, contribute, and enjoy access to businesses and
\nservices and to enjoy one another as neighbors. Our goal is for businesses,
\nnon-pro?ts and organizations across industries and government entities to
\nmodel the City of Fort Worth\u2019s example as they conduct business in Fort
\nWorth. It is in this spirit that I ask for your support and participation in
\nthe Crime Prevention, Safety Fair and Community Forum for the Deaf and Hard
\nof Hearing Community. Also, with much appreciation to Fort Worth Police and
