{"id":12422,"date":"2010-11-24T10:58:11","date_gmt":"2010-11-24T15:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=12422"},"modified":"2010-11-24T11:03:52","modified_gmt":"2010-11-24T16:03:52","slug":"job-opportunity-regional-representative-region-6-dfw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2010\/11\/24\/job-opportunity-regional-representative-region-6-dfw\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Opportunity: Regional Representative &#8211; Region 6 &#8211; DFW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Regional Representative &#8211; Region 6 &#8211; Dallas, TX<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults<\/p>\n<p>The Regional Representative supports the mission and programs of Helen<br \/>\nKeller National Center in the following states: TX, OK, LA, AR, &amp; NM.<\/p>\n<p>Full time position &#8211; serve as an advocate for deaf-blind youths and adults<br \/>\nand their families to maximize independence and opportunities in their home<br \/>\ncommunity; identify deaf-blind youth and adults within assigned states;<br \/>\nassist with planning, implementing, securing and\/or coordinating, and<br \/>\nevaluating appropriate services. (These services may include, but are not<br \/>\nlimited to, evaluation and training at Helen Keller National Center and back<br \/>\nhome follow-up.) Offer\/provide technical assistance, program consultation,<br \/>\nand training to various agencies, organizations and associations.  Maintain<br \/>\nand report monthly statistics, identify and report new clients. Position<br \/>\nrequires significant travel within the assigned states, to  NY and<br \/>\noccasional conferences which may be located throughout the United States.<\/p>\n<p>EDUCATION: Requires Master&#8217;s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling<br \/>\nor related field.<\/p>\n<p>EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years full-time work experience with<br \/>\ndeaf-blind youths or adults, or individuals with significant disabilities.<br \/>\nFluency in ASL and signed English systems. Strong communication, counseling<br \/>\nand advocacy skills.
