Regional Representative – Region 6 – Dallas, TX<\/strong><\/p>\n

Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults<\/p>\n

The Regional Representative supports the mission and programs of Helen
\nKeller National Center in the following states: TX, OK, LA, AR, & NM.<\/p>\n

Full time position – serve as an advocate for deaf-blind youths and adults
\nand their families to maximize independence and opportunities in their home
\ncommunity; identify deaf-blind youth and adults within assigned states;
\nassist with planning, implementing, securing and\/or coordinating, and
\nevaluating appropriate services. (These services may include, but are not
\nlimited to, evaluation and training at Helen Keller National Center and back
\nhome follow-up.) Offer\/provide technical assistance, program consultation,
\nand training to various agencies, organizations and associations. Maintain
\nand report monthly statistics, identify and report new clients. Position
\nrequires significant travel within the assigned states, to NY and
\noccasional conferences which may be located throughout the United States.<\/p>\n

EDUCATION: Requires Master’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling
\nor related field.<\/p>\n

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years full-time work experience with
\ndeaf-blind youths or adults, or individuals with significant disabilities.
\nFluency in ASL and signed English systems. Strong communication, counseling
\nand advocacy skills. Strong computer skills required including MS Word,
\nOutlook and Filemaker Pro.<\/p>\n
