Job posting for Deaf or Hard of Hearing Guide<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Educational Resource Center on Deafness (ERCOD) has partnered with TX
\nHands & Voices to bring the Guide By Your Side (GBYS) program to Texas!
\nGBYS is a model family support program that provides UNBIASED SUPPORT to
\nfamilies with deaf or hard of hearing children all over the state.<\/p>\n

GBYS provides parents with a Parent Guide “match” – a specially trained
\nparent of a deaf or hard of hearing child – who offers support,
\nencouragement, and guidance. Parent Guides are hearing, Deaf, or hard of
\nhearing.<\/p>\n

Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Guides are adults who are specially trained
\nto work with parents with newly identified babies, young children, or
\nteenagers who are deaf or hard of hearing. They provide invaluable
\nperspectives that come from direct personal experiences and help families
\nincrease their awareness of and sensitivity to issues faced by individuals
\nwho are deaf or hard of hearing. DHH Guides do NOT have to be parents
\nthemselves.<\/p>\n

We are currently hiring individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) to
\nbe Guides! This is a part-time contract position through ERCOD.<\/p>\n
