Volunteers Needed for Free Deaf Tax Preparation – Houston<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mayor\u2019s Office for People with Disabilities is getting ready for the second
\nyear of hosting the Free Deaf Tax Preparation. In order for this to be a
\nsuccess, we need volunteers to be trained in \u201cIntake Specialist.\u201d The
\nvolunteers need to be able to communicate in ASL in order to increase
\neffective communication between the deaf tax payer and the intake
\nspecialist. The training will be a one-time, three hour course. If anyone is
\ninterested in this, please register through the link provided below:<\/p>\n

Once you are registered, you need to select the training you would like to
\ntake. MOPD is providing ASL interpreters for the Intake Specialist Training
\non January 12, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (This is the only date and
\ntime available.) Please select that training to be added to their roster.
\nThe training will be held at the Neighborhood Centers Inc. 4500 Bissonnet
\nSt., Bellaire, TX 77401, 2nd Floor Boardroom.<\/p>\n

If you do register for this, please inform me. I need to make an accurate
\ncount of volunteers.<\/p>\n
