Lewisville woman will sign national anthem at Super Bowl<\/strong><\/p>\n

During Sunday\u2019s Super Bowl, while the stars are singing, Candice Villesca
\nwill be signing.<\/p>\n

The Lewisville woman, who was born deaf, will sign the national anthem and
\n\u201cAmerica the Beautiful\u201d at Cowboys Stadium.<\/p>\n

Villesca, 22, says it is an honor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe I will feel real proud to put efforts into signing \u2026 to provide
\nentertainment for the deaf audience,\u201d she wrote in an e-mail.<\/p>\n

The songs are known to be difficult to sing. They\u2019re tough to sign, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose songs are very complicated with several lines that are interpreted
\ndifferently,\u201d Villesca said.<\/p>\n

The NFL worked with the National Association of the Deaf to find a sign
\nlanguage performer. Villesca, who was 2 when she first learned sign
\nlanguage, submitted an audition tape featuring her signing both songs.<\/p>\n

This week, Villesca has practiced signing and studied lyrics. On Saturday,
\nshe\u2019ll practice with Christina Aguilera, who\u2019s performing the anthem, and
\nLea Michele, who\u2019s singing \u201cAmerica the Beautiful.\u201d
\nTo prepare for her time in the spotlight, Villesca says she\u2019s trying to
\nimagine \u201cbeing in the middle of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

While she\u2019s been getting ready, she\u2019s been posting updates on her Twitter
\npage.<\/p>\n

\u201cPractice hard and hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWow I\u2019m in SuperBowl Wikipedia!!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n
