Obituary: Virgene Bice<\/strong><\/p>\n

FORT WORTH\u2013 Virgene Bice, 87, a preciousgodly woman, wonderful wife,
\ndeeply-beloved mother, treasured sister, grandmother and great-grandmother,
\nstepped into the eternal presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday,
\nFebruary 5, 2011.<\/p>\n

SERVICE: 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Fort Worth\u2019s Greenwood Funeral Home.
\nInternment: Virgene will be buried next to her daughter, LuRee, during a
\ngraveside service at Laurel Land. Visitation: Family welcomes visitors
\n6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood. Everyone is invited to fellowship
\nwith the family and lunch will be provided at New Life Deaf Fellowship
\nimmediately following the graveside service: 6917 Brentwood Stair Road, Fort
\nWorth, Texas 76112.<\/p>\n

Born Oct. 7,1923 in Athens, Ohio, Virgene graduated from the Columbus School
\nof the Deaf in Columbus, Ohio. At the outbreak of World War II, she was one
\nof hundreds of Deaf people who obtained civil service jobs in Akron, Ohio.
\nIn this thriving Deaf Community she met her fun-loving husband. They later
\nmoved to Texas and raised their children. In1963 she gave her life to the
\nLord Jesus and became an example of a Christian woman She was active in
\nSouthern Baptist work: Bible Studies, Deaf Youth Camps, Conferences, and
\nmissions. In 1988, after14years of service,Virgene retired from her role as
\na cottage parent at the Texas School for the Deaf. She had a lasting
\ninfluence on the lives of many Deaf youth.<\/p>\n

Virgene was exceptionally beautiful inside and out, focused on pleasing God
\nin loving others rather than pleasing herself. She laughed with ease. Her
\ngentleness prevailed in the hardest of times. She loved fashion and flowers,
\nand was always ready to go with her husband, of 63 years, on adventures that
\ncarried them all over America.<\/p>\n

Preceded in death by her parents, Deaf brother Alvin, and daughter LuRee.<\/p>\n

SURVIVORS:Husband, \u201cJ.E.\u201d Rev. Jacob Eudorus; sister, Lee DeLay (Tom);
\nsister-n-law Minnie Hawk, son and wife, Rev. Dan Lee and Joni; daughter and
\nhusband, Vesta Dee and Dr. Mark Sauter; grandchildren, Zach (Lori,), Jacob
\n(Morgan), and Kristen (Kevin), and nine great-grandchildren, nieces and
\nnephews and many \u2018adopted\u201d Deaf family members.<\/p>\n

MEMORIAL GIFTS:In 1967 Virgene knelt before God and dedicated herself and
\nher children to mission service. Her love and sacrifice has impacted
\nhundreds.Her children learned from her to love and serve with joy and
\ndedication. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Virgene\u2019s Victory
\nFund, New Life Fellowship Deaf Church, Brentwood Stairs, Fort Worth Texas.
\nGifts will be used to enable Deaf men and women to utilize their gifts to
\nserve the Lord.<\/p>\n

The family expresses deep gratitude to Lydia, Saundra, Community Hospice of
\nTexas, Pastor Aric and Allison, and the New Life Family for all the special
\nlove and care they surrounded her with.<\/p>\n
