Representatives from area organizations, service providers and suppliers will be available to talk with you about products, supports, and services for people with disabilities. Our mission is to provide opportunities for People to support People. WHO Should Come …<\/p>\n

People with disabilities of all ages, family members, caregivers, teachers, and other interested professionals.<\/p>\n

WHAT Will Be There …<\/p>\n

Representatives from area organizations, service providers, and suppliers will be available to provide information about products, supports, and services for people with disabilities. Resources will include:<\/p>\n

* Transition services
\n* Support groups for specific disabilities
\n* Recreation and leisure information
\n* College prep information
\n* Disability-specific information and resources
\n* Therapies and therapy providers
\n* Home options provider
\n* Hands-on assistive\/adaptive devices for communication, self-care, mobility
\n* Agencies that provide services for individuals, families, and caregivers
\n* Financial resources
\n* Community employers
\n* Local school districts<\/p>\n

 Four FREE, informative workshops will be offered to all expo attendees: IN CLASSROOM 2304B:<\/p>\n

 * SSI (11 – 11:45 a.m.) Presenter — Tom Clark<\/p>\n

A representative from the Social Security Administration will discuss Social Security and SSI disability benefits as well as explain Social Security’s work incentives that encourage persons who are receiving disability benefits to work.<\/p>\n

 * Guardianship (12 – 12:45 p.m.) Presenter — Kathryn Craven<\/p>\n

A representative from the Tarrant County Probate Court will provide an overview of what guardianship is, when it is necessary, and how parents can establish it.<\/p>\n

 * Medicaid Waivers (1 – 1:45 p.m.) Presenter — Neilee Weir<\/p>\n

The presenter will provide an overview of waivers, including CLASS (Community Living Assistance & Support Services), HCS (Home & Community-Based Services), and TxHmL (Texas Home Living).<\/p>\n

 IN CLASSROOM A:<\/p>\n

 Microboards (11 a.m. – 12 noon and 1 – 2 p.m.) Presenter — Lori Emery<\/p>\n

 The presenter will provide an overview of Microboards.<\/p>\n
