Position Summary:
\nActs as a professional interpreter for students, faculty, staff and
\nadministration that are Deaf\/Hard of Hearing for the Lone Star College
\nSystem in order to maintain institutional compliance with Section 504 of the
\nRehabilitation Act (Section 504) and the Americans with Disabilities Act
\n(ADA). Strives to advance in sign language skill proficiency in order to
\nprovide the highest level of professional interpreter services possible.
\nSupports and promotes all students’ and faculty’s right to equity in the
\nclassroom.<\/p>\n

Requirements:
\nHigh school diploma or equivalent. One or more of the following
\nprofessional interpreter certifications: Department of Rehabilitative
\nServices: BEI-Level II or higher OR Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
\n(RID): CSC,CI, CT, or NIC or higher.<\/p>\n
