What for?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Presented by Ann Horn, BEI Intermediary-3 and Ritchie Bryant, RID CDI<\/p>\n<p>Date: Saturday, May 14, 2011<\/p>\n<p>Time: 9:00 am \u2013 4:00 pm<\/p>\n<p>Location: Austin Community College<br \/>\nHighland Business Center<br \/>\nBoard Room 201<br \/>\n5930 Middle Fiskville Road<br \/>\nAustin, TX 78752<\/p>\n<p>Workshop Description:<\/p>\n<p>Certified Deaf Interpreter using: Will explain the purpose of using CDI and<br \/>\ntrying to emphasize that CDI does not take any interpreter\u2019s job but want<br \/>\nthem to know that they can benefit by having them as their team interpreter<br \/>\nand will have role playing to get an idea on how it works.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a one-hour break for lunch.<\/p>\n<p>The main focus of this afternoon&#8217;s workshop is to discuss the various<br \/>\nreasons why Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs) are underutilized and<br \/>\nidentify ways we can include them as part of the communication team. This<br \/>\nworkshop will challenge conventional wisdom about the roles of CDIs and<br \/>\ndetermining which assignments would require CDIs.<\/p>\n<p>Workshop presented in ASL.
