FEMA Administrators to Keynote at TDI Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n

CEPIN’s parent organization, Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of
\nHearing, Inc. (TDI) is proud to announce that W. Craig Fugate and Marcie
\nRoth will keynote the afternoon portion of TDI’s conference on Thursday,
\nJune 2nd. They will be talking about FEMA’s commitment to ensuring people
\nwith disabilities are included in all steps of the emergency planning and
\npreparedness process. Administrator Fugate will address the conference via
\nvideo while Ms. Roth will speak at the conference in person.<\/p>\n

Craig Fugate, FEMA Administrator<\/p>\n

As Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Fugate has
\nled the agency in responding to numerous disasters including the recent
\ntornado outbreaks in the South. Administrator Fugate has also completely
\nrevamped the way the agency looks at the disability community and is pushing
\nfor inclusion into the overall plan rather than creating separate plans or
\nannexes.<\/p>\n

Marcie Roth, Director of Disability Integration and Coordination, FEMA<\/p>\n

Marcie Roth was appointed by President Obama in June 2009 to be the Senior
\nAdvisor on Disability Issues for FEMA. Once at FEMA, she developed the new
\nOffice of Disability Integration and Coordination, where she now serves as
\nDirector. In this role, she leads the Agency\u2019s commitment to meet the access
\nand functional needs of children and adults with disabilities in emergency
\nand disaster preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.<\/p>\n
