EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEARCH<\/p>\n

MISSION STATEMENT<\/p>\n

The mission of the Corpus Christi Area Council for the Deaf Inc., doing
\nbusiness as The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center subsequently referred to as
\n\u201cthe Center\u2019, is to alleviate communication barriers and to strive for equal
\naccess for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.<\/p>\n

OBJECTIVES
\nThe Center shall be an advocate for people of all ages who are deaf or hard
\nof hearing to enable them to express their freedoms, participate in society
\nto their individual potential, and reduce their isolation regardless of
\nlocation, socio-economic status, or degree of disability.<\/p>\n

JOB DESCRIPTION<\/p>\n

The Executive Director serves as chief administrative officer of the Center
\nand is responsible for the day-to-day operations of The Center under the
\ndirect guidance of the Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n

The Executive Director is responsible for:<\/p>\n

1. Fiscal Integrity
\na. Oversees the financial affairs of the Center and ensures execution of the
\nannual budget. Monitors expenditures of all programs, grants and contracts.
\nb. Reports financial standing to the Board accurately and promptly as
\nrequired.
\nc. Directs procedures for the keeping of records and files to meet the
\nreporting requirements of grants and contracts.<\/p>\n

2. Staff Management and Development
\na. Hires and manages staff and provides for on-going staff and board
\ndevelopment.
\nb. Fosters teamwork and cooperation among staff, boards and volunteers.
\nc. Evaluates staff effectiveness in administering the Center\u2019s strategic
\nplan.
\nd. Ensures that all programs, new and established, are stable with
\nmeasurable outcomes and are of high quality.<\/p>\n

3. Program Development<\/p>\n

a. Reflects agency\u2019s mission through planning and developing unique
\nprogrammatic efforts in response to needs of people who are deaf or hard of
\nhearing.
\nb. Communicates a timely flow of program information between staff, boards
\nand the community.
\nc. Evaluates programs for efficiency.<\/p>\n

4. Public Relations<\/p>\n

a. Maintains the credibility and reputation of the Center.
\nb. Maintains a positive and amicable relationship with city, county and
\nstate officials.
\nc. Provides outreach to promote the Center to increase awareness of the
\norganization and the needs of people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
\nd. Demonstrates effective networking throughout the deaf and hard of hearing
\ncommunity service area, the state and nation.<\/p>\n

5. Resource Development<\/p>\n

a. Initiates and facilitates securing a broad base of financial support to
\nfund the Center\u2019s budget.
\nb. Assists in grant writing and manages state, federal and private grants.<\/p>\n

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s Degree required and five (5) years of business management
\nrequired or ten (10) years business managerial experience.
\nNon-Profit experience preferred but not required.
\nKnowledge of Deaf Culture and programs for people who are Deaf or Hard of
\nHearing preferred but not required.
\nLeadership qualities and experience.
\nBudget and financial experience.
\nMarketing and fund raising experience.
\nEffective written and oral communication.
\nComputer literacy.
\nSalary negotiable, dependent upon qualifications.<\/p>\n
