{"id":15148,"date":"2011-07-25T05:34:54","date_gmt":"2011-07-25T10:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=15148"},"modified":"2011-07-25T06:04:52","modified_gmt":"2011-07-25T11:04:52","slug":"call-for-audition-dfw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2011\/07\/25\/call-for-audition-dfw\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Audition &#8211; DFW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AUDITION NOTICE!!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Miracle Worker<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>by William Gibson<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Kenny Green<\/p>\n<p>Production dates September 30 &#8211; October 16, 2011<\/p>\n<p>Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 PM Sundays at 3:00 PM<\/p>\n<p>Call time is one hour prior to the show.<\/p>\n<p>Auditions for the role of Helen Keller for the upcoming production of The<br \/>\nMiracle Worker will be held on Saturday, July 30 from 9am-4pm. They will<br \/>\ntake place at Runway Theatre, 215 North Dooley Grapevine, Texas. Auditions<br \/>\nare by appointment only and will be scheduled every 15 minutes. No other<br \/>\ndate or time is currently available to audition.<\/p>\n<p>Auditions are by appointment only, no walk in will be accepted.<\/p>\n<p>Please email miracleworker@runwaytheatre.com with the following<br \/>\ninformation.<\/p>\n<p>Your Name, Age, Height, phone number, headshot with your name labeled, and<br \/>\nresume. You will be contacted through email about any audition appointment.<br \/>\nPlease be sure the email address you use is one we can contact you back<br \/>\nthrough. Do not call the theater for an audition appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Parent or guardian must accompany child to the audition.<\/p>\n<p>For auditions, you must be convincible playing a 7 year old blind, deaf<br \/>\nmute. Please come to audition in clothes that you are comfortable moving<br \/>\nin. All audition material will be that of improvisation. Plan on throwing<br \/>\na temper tantrum, a very big one, without making any vocal noise. You will<br \/>\nalso be required to attempt to get out of a chair while being held down.<br \/>\nOther theatre improvisations will be asked also. Helen does make some<br \/>\nnoises vocally during the show, mostly when angry, frustrated or frightened.<br \/>\nYou may be asked to make those noises.<\/p>\n<p>Rehearsals for just Helen will begin the first week of August. Due to the<br \/>\ndemands of the rehearsal process, it is expected that those auditioning are<br \/>\nA\/B students and maintain their GPA during the rehearsal period. Please<br \/>\nbring your most current report card to auditions. Your education is far<br \/>\nmore important than this role.<\/p>\n<p>Auditions for the remainder of the cast will be held August 14\/15 and the<br \/>\ngirl cast as Helen will be required to be at those auditions. Complete<br \/>\nrehearsals will start immediately and are tentatively planned for Sunday &#8211;<br \/>\nThursday from 7:00 &#8211; 10:00 pm. Helen will be required to be at every<br \/>\nrehearsal. An adult will remain at the theatre until all children have been<br \/>\npicked up following nightly rehearsals.
