Position: Counselor <\/p>\n
Position Title Code: 5343-2-13169-58-0114<\/p>\n
Essential Job Functions Conducts a psychosocial and environmental assessment of clients through personal interviews, observation and other methods to determine clinical and other resources and services required. Conducts individual and group counseling. Provides crisis intervention services for clients. Develops or assists in developing and recommending service plans for clients. Resolves obstacles to service delivery. Prepares progress reports of client treatment, documents interviews, observations and evaluations for case file. Manages a client caseload. Initiates and sustains ongoing advocacy, language and cultural mediation for clients who are deaf, deaf-blind, hard of hearing. Plans, develops and conducts training sessions for staff and volunteers. <\/p>\n
Qualification Requirements: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral science or related field AND two (2) years experience in counseling\/social services. <\/p>\n
License: Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License.
\nRequired: This position serves the deaf community of Travis County and requires fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
\nPreferred: Master’s degree in social or behavioral science may be preferred.
\nExperience in crisis and trauma counseling may be preferred.
\nLicensed Professional Counselor (LPC) may be preferred. <\/p>\n
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
\nWork site: 2201 Post Road
\nBACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED
\nSalary: $14.18 – $17.37 Hourly. Commensurate with experience.
