Born on August<br \/>\n13, 1861, Veditz later became one of the most ardent and visible advocate of<br \/>\nthe NAD and of American Sign Language. He realized in the early 1900s that<br \/>\nthe newly developed technology of motion pictures were an ideal way to<br \/>\nconvey the beauty of sign language to the world. One of his motion pictures<br \/>\nshowing his passion for sign language was recently accepted into the Library<br \/>\nof Congress.
