Our beloved Larry Hutchison, 52, passed away unexpectantly in his sleep on August 15, 2011, in Toronto, Canada. He was predeceased by his mother, Adelide Hutchison and brother, Leslie Hutchison. Larry will be dearly missed by his wife Beth (McAdam); his three stepchildren, Paul, Sammi and Brad Bourgeois; his father, Fred Hutchison; sister, Lisa Hutchison; brother, Lance Hutchison (Christina) of Baytown, Texas. He will be sadly missed by his m law, Claire McAdam of Smiths Falls, sisters-in-law Susan Bedder (Joel) of Toronto, Kerri-Anne McAd of Greely and his nieces and nephews as well as many friends in the Deaf communities throughout Canada and the United<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
A graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas, he attended Gallaudet University, where he met the love of his life, Beth. A classic love story \u2013 a match not meant to be in college wound up to be a match made in Heaven 18 years later when they reconnected and eloped.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Through the years, Larry served the Deaf community through his volunteer service in many deaf organizations as well as in his work with the Deaf, most recently as a Deaf Interpreter.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In Canada, a Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held Monday, August 29, 2011, at The Manor (next to the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf), 2395 Bayview Ave, Toronto Ontario from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Donations in Larry’s memory can be made to Silent Voice\u2019s Children & Family Programs, 50 St. Clair Ave East, Suite 300, Toronto, M4T 1M9.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In Texas, a memorial to celebrate Larry\u2019s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2011, at the Memorial Baptist Church, 600 W. Sterling, Baytown, Texas, at 2:00 p.m. More details to come as they are known.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
All his life, Larry was a strong believer in giving his time to the Deaf community. His many accomplishments include:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
* Board member at Silent Voice Canada<\/div>\n
* Chair of Interpreting committee in Texas<\/div>\n
* Named in American’s Who’s Who in Professional Management<\/div>\n
* Named in Who’s Who in Junior Colleges, twice<\/div>\n
* Involved in many deaf organizations across Texas, serving in leadership roles<\/div>\n
* Was a gifted athlete in his younger years<\/div>\n
* Committed volunteer in the deaf community<\/div>\n
* Always served with compassion, a ready-made smile AND always ended a good-bye with his trademark saying “Stay In Trouble!”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Larry, you will be dearly, dearly missed by us all\u2026your infectious smile, big bear hugs, and your love will stay with us forever. We love you!<\/div>\n
