You signed it…but, was it understood? Not everything has a corresponding
\nsign and fingerspelling medical terminology does not give way to
\ncomprehension… Especially if the client is stressed by pain, nerves, etc.
\nKnowing the vocabulary, knowing the spelling, and using expansion and
\nclarification techniques to build the picture will make the information more
\neasily understood for the client. We will be focusing on 6-10 different
\nsurgeries and the best ways to present the info for the procedure, the after
\ncare, possible complications, and exploring various ways to portray the
\ninformation visually. The signer should know how well they are presenting
\nthe information by how well their partner can voice the presentation. We
\nwill also be covering the Medical Intake paperwork (HIPAA, Admissions,
\nMedical History, Patients Rights and Responsibilities, Living Will, Power of
\nAttorney, Do Not Resuscitate, etc.) and the Ethical Responsibilities of
\nbeing privy to all this information.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the workshop to benefit the 3rd Saturday Silent Night Pot Luck
\nSocial and the Deaf Studies Reference Library<\/p>\n

Workshop will be followed by the 3rd Saturday Silent Night Pot Luck Social
\nfrom 7:00pm-12:00am<\/p>\n
