LONGVIEW \u2014 On August 18, 2011 Officer Doug Pickering responded to the 2400
\nBlock of Gilmer Road. When he arrived at the scene the victim, 92-year old
\nHarry Nash of Longview, told Officer Pickering his wallet had been stolen.
\nMr. Nash said he was paying for his items and set his wallet down on the
\ncheck stand. He forgot to pick it up and walked away for only a few
\nseconds. When he returned he saw a black male paying for items at the
\nregister. He said he did not see his wallet and the man had been the only
\none there at the time he walked away from the register.<\/p>\n

The suspect was observed on video taking the wallet and placing it in the
\nleft front pocket of his shorts. The suspect is described as a black male,
\nheavy build, approximately 5\u201910\u201d tall. He was wearing a blue sleeveless
\nshirt, blue jean shorts, glasses, and a blue baseball cap worn backwards.
\nThe suspect also had a small child with him. The suspect was driving a
\nBuick Regal 1997-2004 model. The car is white with a tan stripe around the
\nbottom and a sunroof.<\/p>\n

Detectives are asking for anyone with information about this incident to
\ncontact Gregg County Crime Stoppers at 903-236-STOP or online at
\n http:\/\/www.greggcountycrimestoppers.com<\/a>. A reward of up to $1000.00 may
\nbe paid for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in this case.
\nAny information given will remain confidential.<\/p>\n
