\"\"<\/a>Obituary: Evelyn Inez Pierce<\/strong><\/p>\n

Evelyn Inez Pierce, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed from this
\nlife Friday, September 2, 2011. Inez was born February 27, 1916 in Grand
\nPrairie, Texas. Her parents were Cal Hall Spears and Annie Mae Fugat Spears.
\nWhen her deafness was discovered, she was sent to school at the Texas
\nSchool for the Deaf in Austin. In 1942, she married Lucien Warner Pierce and
\nsettled down to family life in Grand Prairie. Inez had already joined Silent
\nFriends Chapel in 1938, and convinced her new husband to join. The two were
\nactive members in the congregation for well over 60 years. In later years,
\nInez and Lucien became very active as volunteers in the Deaf community
\nworking in various capacities for the Deaf Action Center in Dallas.<\/p>\n

Always a gracious hostess, Inez loved to have friends over to her house for
\nsocial gatherings. Inez had a warm, lively personality, making anyone who
\nmet her feel welcomed. She was well-loved by her family and in the community
\nas well.<\/p>\n

Her family cherishes her many creative endeavors, including her drawings,
\nwatercolors, crochet and embroidery. She loved color and vibrance, and
\noften engaged her children and grandchildren in creative activities.<\/p>\n

Inez is preceded in death by her husband, Lucien. Survivors include daughter
\nRosemary Sue Cox and son-in-law Bobby Cox; daughter Sara Pierce; three
\ngrandchildren and their spouses; and two great grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Memorial service will be held September 7, Wednesday afternoon at one
\no\u2019clock at Arlington Funeral Home, 1221 E. Division Street, Arlington,
\nTexas. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening 6-8 at the same location.<\/p>\n

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Deaf, Inc.
\n(Heritage Square Assisted Living) or to Universal Health Resources and
\nHospice Care, or to New Life Deaf Fellowship, all in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n
