My name is Mike Collier and I am assistant professor of ASL and Deaf Studies at Texas Tech Unversity in Lubbock, Texas. I am assisting Cylathia Daniel, a doctoral student and Dr. Roseanna Davidson of Texas Tech University an exciting study entitled:<\/p>\n
\u201cWhich Assistive Tools and Equipment are used by Adults who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Texas \u201d. <\/p>\n
We need your help! Can you give us about 15 minutes to answer 31 questions online with the click of a mouse? <\/p>\n

Your answers will be used to help learn more about what assistive tools (accommodations) and equipment are used by Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Texas. What you like and dont like. All your answers are confidential. <\/p>\n

Purpose<\/p>\n
The purpose of the study is to learn more about which assistive tools and equipment are used by adults who are deaf and hard of hearing in Texas . <\/p>\n
Procedures<\/p>\n
The survey consists of some general descriptive personal information, 14 multiple choice questions and 2 open ended questions. The on-line survey will take about \u00bd hour. <\/p>\n
Risks<\/p>\n
There is minimum risk of harm or discomfort with participation.. You will not receive any payment for participation.<\/p>\n
Benefits<\/p>\n
The information will be useful to university teacher preparation program faculty, deaf educators in public and private schools, and to adult service agencies.<\/p>\n
Confidentiality<\/p>\n
The data from the structured interview will be kept confidential and no personally identifying information will be published.<\/p>\n
Rights<\/p>\n
Your participation is totally voluntary and you may choose to stop the interview at any time with no negative consequences.<\/p>\n
