GRADS RETURN TO CENTRAL TEXAS FOR VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF (TSD) EXES ON GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY TEAM<\/p>\n

VISIT TO ALMA MATER INCLUDES PRACTICE WITH TSD TEAM<\/p>\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 September 8, 2011 Gallaudet University\u2019s (GU) Bison
\nvolleyball team makes a stop in Austin at the Texas School for the Deaf
\ntoday before tournament play this weekend in Seguin at Texas Lutheran
\nUniversity\u2019s (TLU) Buffalo Classic.<\/p>\n

TSD and GU are like family. Several of GU\u2019s team members are former Texas
\nSchool for the Deaf (TSD) Rangers, as well as GU coach, Lynn Boren, who
\ngraduated from TSD in 1989. Many TSD students attend GU, and many TSD
\nteachers, staff and administrators are GU alumni. TSD\u2019s Superintendent,
\nClaire Bugen, serves on GU\u2019s Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n

The Bisons will hold a closed practice at TSD this Thursday at 2:30 p.m.,
\nfollowed by a short practice with TSD\u2019s varsity and junior varsity teams.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving four recent TSD graduates on Gallaudet University\u2019s volleyball team
\nreally validates the strength of our volleyball program here, says TSD
\nAthletic Director, Chris Hamilton. And it is certainly a once-in-a-lifetime
\nopportunity to see them participate in a NCAA volleyball tournament here in
\nTexas, especially near Austin. We welcome them here and will support them
\nin Seguin this weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Gallaudet women play at TLU in Seguin Friday, September 9, at noon vs.
\nthe Linfield College (OR) Wildcats, and at 5:00 p.m. vs. the Pacific
\nLutheran University (WA) Lutes.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, catch the Bisons in an all-Texas match-up against the TLU
\nBulldogs at 12:30 p.m., and again at 3:00 p.m. vs. the Concordia University
\nTornados.<\/p>\n

The TSD Rangers\u2019 next match-up will be at San Juan Diego Catholic High
\nSchool on September 20.<\/p>\n
