* Ethics for the Church Interpreter – 4 Hours
\n(Separate ethics workshop CEUs will be given)
\n* Becoming a Well Rounded Church Interpreter – 6 Hours<\/p>\n

Workshop cost includes 1 night lodging and 3 meals.<\/p>\n

Ethics for the Church Interpreter<\/p>\n

Ethics for the Church Interpreter impacts all areas of Church interpreting.
\nNot only do interpreters need to follow the established code of conduct,
\nbut also continue to improve their skill level, offering the best services
\npossible, in all areas of church interpreting.<\/p>\n

Through lecture and large and small group discussions, the participants will
\nbe raised to a new level of consciousness regarding the importance of
\ninterpreting church concepts in a visual meaningful way to their Deaf
\nconsumers.<\/p>\n

In the small group breakout sessions, the participants will share ethical
\nsituations and discuss solutions. Various ways to interpret Bible concepts
\nwill also be discussed. These will be shared in large group time where it
\ncan be observed what skills were acquired, or added to, through this
\nworkshop.<\/p>\n

Becoming a Well Rounded Church Interpreter<\/p>\n

Presented by Connie Miller and Kathy Bayne<\/p>\n

The \u201cwell rounded\u201d Church interpreter requires a wide range of skill sets
\nthat touch all phases of church life. From timeliness to attire,
\nconfidential information to open involvement, Bible knowledge and world
\nknowledge, teaming, dramas, church vocabulary, and so much more, will be
\ndiscussed.<\/p>\n

Through lecture and large and small group discussions, the participants will
\nbecome aware of growth areas for themselves and their Deaf ministries as a
\nwhole.<\/p>\n

In small group breakout sessions, the participants will discuss what is
\nlimiting their ministries from moving forward and how to overcome
\nroadblocks. In large group time, the participants will share what new
\ninformation that was acquired and how it can be taken back to the local
