RANGERS READY FOR THE BIG DAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

FANS AWAIT TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF\u2019S HOMECOMING CELEBRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

STUDENTS PUMPED FOR ANNUAL PEP RALLY TODAY!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 September 23, 2011 Homecoming at the Texas School for the
\nDeaf (TSD) is still the most cherished tradition celebrated at the 154
\nyear-old school, home of the TSD Rangers.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s Blue and White pep rally at 1:00 p.m. caps off Spirit Week at TSD
\n\u2013 when the winning high school class takes ownership of the coveted Spirit
\nAward for the 2011-12 school year \u2013 and officially kicks-off TSD\u2019s pre-game
\nfestivities that will bring 2,000+ fans to the Austin campus at 1102 South
\nCongress Avenue.<\/p>\n

Rooted in long-standing tradition, each year students, families, friends and
\nalumni converge on TSD\u2019s campus mall to celebrate together at the Homecoming
\nFestival prior to the game. Fans will enjoy almost 70 booths offering
\nrefreshments, cool merchandise, student fundraisers, games and more.<\/p>\n

Competition starts early in the day Saturday with TSD Junior Varsity and
\nVarsity Volleyball games at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. against San Marcos
\nAcademy.<\/p>\n

Homecoming pre-game at 5:00 p.m. will honor past homecoming royalty and
\nformer alumni, including returning players from TSD\u2019s 1941 first national
\nfootball championship team.<\/p>\n

The 5:30 p.m. kick-off matches TSD against John Paul II Catholic High
\nSchool, where TSD\u2019s 2011 Homecoming court will be crowned during half time.<\/p>\n

The Texas School for the Deaf is the oldest continuously operating public
\nschool in Texas. Educating deaf and hard of hearing students since 1856, the
\ncampus also provides outreach and educational resources for students, their
\nfamilies and professionals in the field throughout Texas. With educational
\nexcellence and a strong belief in a culture and community at TSD, students
\nform a unique identity based on their individual strengths and talents. TSD
