Governor\u2019s Committee on People with Disabilities Announces 2011 Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas \u2013 The Governor\u2019s Committee on People
\nwith Disabilities has announced the winners of the 2011 Lex Frieden
\nEmployment Awards, which recognize employers who go above and beyond the
\nlegal requirements in hiring, training and maintaining positive working
\nrelationships with employees with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Nominations for the awards were submitted by individuals and organizations
\nfrom communities throughout the state, and winners were selected by a panel
\nof judges familiar with disability issues from the public and private
\nsectors.<\/p>\n

Winners of the 2011 Lex Frieden Employment Awards will be honored at a
\nceremony dinner on Tuesday, October 25, at 5:30 p.m. at the Austin
\nDoubletree North Hotel. The event is hosted by the Austin Mayor\u2019s Committee
\nfor People with Disabilities, and is open to the public by reservation.<\/p>\n

Medium Employer of the Year \u2013 Johnson Controls, San Antonio<\/p>\n

Small Employer of the Year \u2013 Taco Cabana #278, Austin<\/p>\n
