Please<br \/>\nread below for six volunteer positions that we are seeking for. Currently,<br \/>\nwe are in a need for a filmmaker and editor to start our projects soon.<br \/>\nPlease feel free to pass this information along to anyone that might be<br \/>\ninterested in filming or editing for our program.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in applying for any volunteer positions, please email<br \/>\nNida Din at NDin@SafePlace.org for an application. To give you a fair<br \/>\nwarning, we require all volunteers to go through background check for<br \/>\nsecurity purposes, and the one-time fee is 10 dollars. This is the only time<br \/>\nwe expect our volunteers to pay.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you!!!<\/p>\n<p>All location in Austin, Texas<\/p>\n<p>DEAF SERVICES \u2013 PUBLIC AWARENESS EVENTS VOLUNTEER<\/p>\n<p>Represent SafePlace \u2013 Deaf Services at Deaf events (i.e., Texas School for<br \/>\nthe Deaf Homecoming Fair, Deaf Nation Expo, etc.) and provide basic<br \/>\ninformation about Deaf Services and\/or educate about sexual and domestic<br \/>\nviolence.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<br \/>\nFriendly, flexible personality.<br \/>\nMust be fluent in ASL.<br \/>\nParticipation in SafePlace \u2013 Deaf Services training.<\/p>\n<p>Timeframe:<br \/>\nRequest upon event opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Supervisor:<br \/>\nDeaf Services Outreach\/Educator<br \/>\n_______________________________________<\/p>\n<p>DEAF SERVICES \u2013 ACTOR\/ACTRESS VOLUNTEER<\/p>\n<p>Perform in film(s) related to sexual and\/or domestic violence in ASL to<br \/>\nprovide full access to communication and information about sexual and<br \/>\ndomestic violence to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<br \/>\nFriendly, flexible personality.<br \/>\nMust be fluent in ASL.<br \/>\nParticipation in SafePlace \u2013 Deaf Services training.<br \/>\nExperience in acting preferred, but not required.<\/p>\n<p>Timeframe:<br \/>\nRequest upon film opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Supervisor:<br \/>\nDeaf Services Outreach\/Educator<br \/>\n_______________________________________<\/p>\n<p>DEAF SERVICES \u2013 FILM EDITOR VOLUNTEER<\/p>\n<p>Edit films, add subtitles, and upload to youtube channel(s) and\/or Facebook.<br \/>\nFilms are related to sexual and\/or domestic violence in ASL to provide full<br \/>\naccess to communication and information about sexual and domestic violence<br \/>\nto the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<br \/>\nFriendly, flexible personality.<br \/>\nMust be fluent in ASL.<br \/>\nParticipation in SafePlace \u2013 Deaf Services training.<br \/>\nMust use your own equipment (i.e., computer\/laptop, software program<br \/>\ninstalled, etc.) to complete tasks.<br \/>\nBe able to work closely and communicate efficiently with filmmaker volunteer<br \/>\nand Deaf Services Advocate\/Educator.<br \/>\nExperience in editing preferred, but not required.<\/p>\n<p>Timeframe:<br \/>\nRequest upon film opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Supervisor:<br \/>\nDeaf Services Outreach\/Educator _______________________________________<\/p>\n<p>DEAF SERVICES \u2013 FILMMAKER VOLUNTEER<\/p>\n<p>Create scripts, recruit actors\/actresses, direct, and film the scenes. The purpose of sharing your story is to educate<br \/>\nDeaf\/HH communities about sexual and domestic violence and show the public<br \/>\nthat it does happen in the Deaf\/HH communities.
