Invites You To IMPROVE your skills in American Sign Language<\/p>\n
Wednesdays 6:30pm to 7:45pm <\/p>\n
Starting August 23 in the Christ Family Center, room 209. <\/p>\n
A new addition to our ACTS 5:29 events at Lovers Lane, this class will meet every Wednesday night for seven weeks, ending on October 4th. <\/p>\n
We are pleased to announce that this class will be taught by Evelyn Pasqua, a graduate of Gallaudet University (the world’s only liberal arts university for the Deaf). <\/p>\n
Evelyn describes her class: “I will teach th e people the difference between ASL and English Sign Language. The course will focus on grammar and rules related to ASL, facial expressions, body language as well as sign languages from other countries. Each person will have a chance to tell a story in sign. Included is a field trip to Deaf Celebration in Arlington on October 7th, and watching a closed captioned movie without sound.” <\/p>\n
The cost for this class is $25, payable to “Lovers Lane UMC” and includes all materials, except field trip and movie. This class is for those who have some knowledge of ASL and want to improve their skills. All past ASL students from Lovers Lane are encouraged to enroll.<\/p>\n
FOOD! You are welcome to come eat dinner in Asbury Hall before ASL class starts, every Wednesday night at 6pm. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Children’s activities are available also from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. <\/p>\n
