2012 Collin County Skywarn Training – DFW<\/strong><\/p>\n

Collin Skywarn Training is going to be held on Saturday January 21, 2012 at
\nCollin College Spring Creek Campus. Sign in begins at 8:00 am and the
\nprogram runs from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.<\/p>\n

The conference is free and open to the public; Sign language Interpreters
\nwill be provided for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing<\/p>\n

Who are SKYWARN storm spotters?<\/p>\n

Amateur radio operators make up the backbone of the SKYWARN spotter network.
\nIn some communities and counties, law enforcement and fire officials serve
\neffectively as storm spotters. Public utilities workers, electric and
\ntelephone crews, and city\/county employees may also serve as storm spotters,
\nalong with interested members of the general public. This is an excellent
\nopportunity to have your law enforcement, fire, dispatchers, city\/county
\nworkers, Community Emergency Response Teams, and interested citizens trained
\nin how to spot severe weather in your community. Collin Community College
