Summer contract Job Opportunity – Houston<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two childcare coordinators are needed for the 2012 Statewide Conference
\non Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (http:\/\/www.swced.org<\/a>) The
\npositions are short-term contract positions.<\/p>\n

Children\u2019s Program Coordinator\/Supervisor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Statewide Conference on Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing<\/p>\n

July 29 \u2013 August 1, 2012<\/p>\n

Duties:
\nDevelop a comprehensive schedule with appropriate activities planned
\nfor each age group. Age range is approximately 5 yrs to 15 yrs. Develop
\na plan for smooth transitions from families to children\u2019s programs and
\nchildren\u2019s programs to families, safe child\/parent exchange system, and
\nparent contact procedures. The Conference Planning Committee will
\nrecruit volunteers and secure the location. The coordinator will make
\nall logistical arrangements, childcare lists, volunteer list, contact
\nlists, snacks, room assignments and supply list for a quality childcare
\nprogram. Work with Statewide Conference planners to coordinate
\nchildren\u2019s schedules with adult program schedules. Provide volunteer
\ntraining and supervision in terms of the schedules, activities,
\nlogistics and procedures. At the end of the conference, provide
\nevaluative feedback for future conferences.<\/p>\n

Required Qualifications:
\n\u2022 Experience supervising children.
\n\u2022 Experience planning recreational\/educational activities for children
\npreschool through High School.<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications:
\n\u2022 Experience supervising children who are deaf or hard of hearing
\n\u2022 Strong organizational skills, ability to work as a team member and
\nsupervise children and volunteer staff
\n\u2022 Ability to work with diverse staff and families
\n\u2022 Sign Language skills<\/p>\n

Honorarium: $750 Inclusive –<\/p>\n

4 days (July 29-31 and Aug 1) + pre-planning time
\nHOURS: January to July \u2013 misc. pre-planning time (10-15 hours)
\nJuly 29 \u2013 approx. 2 hours (set-up only)
\nJuly 30 & 31 – 8:00am to 6:00pm
\nAug 1 – 8:00 am to 1:00 pm<\/p>\n

The conference and childcare activities will be located at the Westin
\nGalleria in Houston – no travel or lodging costs will be provided .
