Denied Access by Wells Fargo? File Your Claim By January 29, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) urges customers who were
\nrefused access to Wells Fargo Bank or Wachovia Bank services before
\nJune 1, 2011 to file a claim with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
\nRefused access includes denial of relay call to Wells Fargo or failure
\nto provide effective communication such as sign language interpreter
\nfor meetings while visiting a Wells Fargo branch.<\/p>\n

The DOJ entered into a settlement agreement with Wells Fargo which will
\npay up to $16 million to compensate individuals who experienced
\ndiscrimination in violation of Title III of the Americans with
\nDisabilities Act (ADA) when trying to call Wells Fargo, access Wells
\nFargo’s services, or visit one of Wells Fargo’s retail stores.<\/p>\n

Prior to the settlement, Wells Fargo refused to accept relay calls from
\ndeaf and hard of hearing individuals. The NAD led the way in filing
\nover 15 complaints with the DOJ for deaf and hard of hearing
\nindividuals against this illegal practice.<\/p>\n

\nby 12 pm (noon) Eastern Standard Time (EST) on January 25, 2011. You
\ncan file a claim by yourself directly with the DOJ up to January 29,
