February 14, 2012 San Antonio, Texas\u2013 Pamela Gabriel Craig, candidate
\nfor 37th District Court Judge in San Antonio engaged Deaf Link, Inc. to
\nmake her campaign message accessible to citizens who are Deaf, Blind,
\nHard of Hearing and for persons with low literacy. Craig stated, \u201cMy
\ngoal is to make sure all citizens know how important they are to me and
\nto ask for their vote on April 3, 2012.\u201d<\/p>\n

Traditionally people with disabilities have been left out of the
\npolitical process for lack of access to candidate\u2019s message and ability
\nto engage candidates with concerns or questions. San Antonio has a
\nDeaf, Blind, Hard of Hearing population estimated at 116,887.
\nReaching out to this untapped voter base could significantly impact
\nboth the campaign and the community. Craig stated, \u201cI know the
\nimportance of communication and have taken action to address a
\nlong-standing issue in politics regarding the majority of citizens with
\nsensory disabilities; especially those who use American Sign Language
\n(ASL) that rarely have access to any political information. *Note:
\nAmerican Sign Language has no roots in English and is one of the most
\ntaught foreign languages in our colleges today.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Gabriel Craig\u2019s video message provides information to a wider more
\ndiverse audience because of the multiple modalities in which it is
\ndelivered: access for citizens who are deaf and rely on ASL, the
\nvoicing provides access for persons who are visually impaired, blind or
\nlow literate and the video is captioned for persons who are hard of
\nhearing.<\/p>\n

Kay Chiodo, CEO of Deaf Link said, \u201cI have great respect for Pamela
