ViUDA Bistro’s Kurt Ramborger is Austin’s Hottest Chef<\/strong><\/p>\n

The people have spoken–a lot, if the comments on our finals post are
\nany indication–and deemed Kurt “The Irish Chef” Ramborger the hottest
\nchef in Austin. This ginger fireball beat out Asti Trattoria’s Kenzie
\nAllen and 31 other chefs for the title. He’ll now go on to face other
\nsexy kitchenmeisters from across the Eater universe for the title of
\nHottest Chef in the Country. Set your iCal: the national voting rounds

Summary by Heidi\u2019s brother, Kurt\u2019s history of working as chef – Tale of
\nmo chef career, In 1993 started in a Vegetarian Cafe as dishwasher
\ndurin\u2019 mo college in So Cal. Found mo passion in the kitchen and asked
\nmo chef dat mo wanna to be a chef. She told me to start practice on
\nknives skill. Next 2 months, mo moved up to line cook then becamesous
\nchef within 6 months. Worked there fer 5 years and got married then
\nmoved to Oah\u2019u, Hawai\u2019i as Teacher Aide fer deaf school. 5 months which
\ndidn\u2019t bring happiness in Hawai\u2019i and moved to Seattle, WA. Feelin\u2019 the
\nitch to go back in the kitchen. Found a job as prep and lunch cook.
\nOnce again, moved up to be a lunch chef fer one and half year. Got a
\nbetter job offer at 4-star restaurant called Flying Fish in downtown
\nSeattle as prepmeister. From there, mo have learned a lot about how to
\nincorporated a new dish and recipes fer a menu daily!<\/p>\n

After a year there, mo long-tyme deaf friend, Rob Esposito, offer me a
\nchef position to open up an Italian Ristorante called Abbondanza
\nPizzeria in 2000. Dat\u2019s where mo started learn how to operate a
\nrestaurant business and executive chef. After 2 years there, feel the
\nneeds to learn more by move to other restaurants. Paragon\u2019s; That\u2019s A
\nSome Italian; Mona\u2019s Bistro and Lounge; Opened up other Pizzeria called
\nDeano\u2019s in wrong location which shut down within 2 months. Did returned
\nto Abbondanza twice to help bring the authenic Napoletana food. Mo
\nended up in a fateful car accident which brings mo in bedridden fer 6
\nmonths and moved to Fremont, CA. After a year of recovery, started mo
\nown caterin\u2019 biz called 4-Leaf Clover Catering. Been runnin\u2019 by meself
\nfer 5 years catered all over Amerika.<\/p>\n

Decided to move to Austin with mo wyns (kids) and their mom. Tried to
\nfind a restaurant job in Austin but kept shut me out. Bumped into Paul
\nRutowski and we started a catering called Arouse Your Palate Catering
\nto caters all around Austin and internet live streamin\u2019 cooking show
\nwith iDeaf News. Rene Alcala and Paul befriended at fitness center and
\noffered us his mom\u2019s restaurant fer few events. After few events, we
\ntryin\u2019 to give a bistro a chance. Been doin\u2019 it fer 6 months now.<\/p>\n
