American Sign Language Interpreter\/Level III or Equivalent<\/strong><\/p>\n

Full time and Part time position(s)<\/p>\n

Location: Lane Murray Facility, Gatesville, Texas<\/p>\n

Job Summary: Provides interpreting services to female correctional
\nclients receiving services through the Assistive Disability Program.<\/p>\n

Major Duties\/Critical Task:<\/p>\n

* Provides ASL Interpreter services for female offenders involved in
\nmajor and minor disciplinary investigations; classification interviews;
\nmedical and dental appointments; psychological and sociological
\ninterviews; job assignment interviews; parole interviews and access to
\ncourt inquiries.<\/p>\n

* Provides interpreter services during post-admission screening.<\/p>\n

* Coordinates contract interpreter services.<\/p>\n

* Performs as a program advocate and resource person for deaf
\noffenders.<\/p>\n

* Performs related duties as required.<\/p>\n

Required Education\/Experience:<\/p>\n

High School diploma from an accredited school, or GED with
\ncertification in American Sign Language (ASL) at level three or
\nequivalent and three years experience in facilitating American Sign
\nLanguage.<\/p>\n
