http:\/\/www.variety.com\/review\/VE1117944885\/<\/a><\/p>\nAneta Brodski, a deaf Israeli teen, attends a school for the deaf in
\nQueens, N.Y. where she explores slam poetry using American Sign
\nLanguage. Proud of her deafness but aware of the isolation it brings,
\nAneta utilizes her unique experiences to create a powerful poetic art
\nform. When Aneta meets Tahani, a hearing Palestinian slam poet, the two
\ncreate a deaf\/hearing duet in which they explore their shared and
\npersonal experiences and generate a new form of slam poetry which
\nspeaks to the deaf as well as the hearing.<\/p>\n
Throughout HJFF we will be accepting donations of gently used
\nchildren\u2019s books. Designated book drop-off screenings are Deaf Jam on
\nMar. 6, Young Abraham on Mar. 11, and Nicky\u2019s Family on March 16, 2012.<\/p>\n
