\nThis position is being announced under FEMA’s CORE Program (Cadre of
\nOn-call Response\/Recovery employees). These positions are authorized
\nunder P.L. 93-288 to perform temporary disaster work and are funded
\nfrom the Disaster Relief Fund. Appointments are excepted service,
\ntemporary appointments. This is a 2 year temporary appointment in the
\nExcepted Service.<\/p>\n

EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: For all nonbargaining unit positions, the
\nfollowing applies: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring
\nemergency management responsibilities, though not every position
\nrequires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are
\nsubject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations,
\nwhich may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than
\nthe official duty station, and may include duties other than those
\nspecified in the employee’s official position description. Travel
\nrequirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in
\nnature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require
\nemployees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and
\noperationally challenging conditions.<\/p>\n

KEY REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n

\nDUTIES:<\/p>\n

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security,
\nFederal Emergency Management Agency, Region VI, Mitigation Division,
\nRisk Analysis Branch. The primary purpose of this position is to
\ndirectly support the Risk Analysis, Mitigation Planning program and
\nprovide administrative support toward the successful accomplishment of
\nthe goals and objectives.<\/p>\n

Assist Risk Analysis, Mitigation Planning staff in compiling and
\nmaintaining basic program authorities, guidelines, plans, work plans,
\nstudies, and related documents and data.
\nAttend meetings and assist in preparing reports for such meetings.
\nKnowledge of common and FEMA-specific computer software programs so as
\nto become proficient in inputting and retrieving data pertaining to the
\nwork of the Mitigation Planning program area.
\nConducts audits as requested.
\nCompose basic administrative reports, letters, and related documents
\nfor the Mitigation Planning program area.
\nMaintain the Mitigation Planning program area database for tracking the
\nreview and approval status of all State, local and tribal Mitigation
\nplans for Region VI.<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:<\/p>\n

You qualify for this position at the GS-07 level if you possess one of
\nthe following: One full year of specialized experience. Specialized
\nexperience is described as experience that equipped the applicant with
\nthe knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties
\nof the position, and that is in the related work of the position to be
\nfilled.<\/p>\n
