PR\/Marketing Contractor Job Opportunity for NAD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Public Relations\/Marketing Contractor – Request for Proposals<\/p>\n

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) seeks a creative and
\ndynamic proposal from individuals with savvy public relations,
\nmarketing, and social media skills for a contract effective April 1,
\n2012 to April 1, 2013.<\/p>\n

The selected contractor will be responsible for assisting with the
\npublic relations, marketing, and social media of the Association.
\nPrimary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: updating
\ncontent on the Association\u2019s official website; handling the
\nAssociation\u2019s official Facebook and Twitter accounts; coordinating and
\ncreating promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and
\nadvertisements; producing annual reports; and creating and editing
\nonline advertisements and videos promoting the NAD.<\/p>\n

Other key duties include the following: ensure follow through on
\nprojects from concept through completion with heavy input from staff
\nmembers; collaborate with volunteer writers, web programmers, artists
\nand designers; assist staff with questions and requests regarding
\npublic relations and marketing strategies; ensure that marketing
\nmaterials are consistent with the Association\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n

The ideal contractor must be a self-starter with a high level of
\ncreativity and initiative. This person must possess a thorough
\nunderstanding of public relations, marketing, and social media
\nprinciples. We are looking for a team player with the ability to
\nprioritize and handle multiple projects in an intense
\ndeadline-driven environment. The candidate must be highly organized,
\nwith a demonstrated willingness to acquire and continually update on
\ntechnology and skills. Strong writing skills in English are required.<\/p>\n

Fluency in ASL and general knowledge of deaf culture and heritage is
\nrequired. Performance of duties at the NAD office in Silver Spring, MD
\nis preferred.<\/p>\n
