Statewide Conference on Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you have personnel who are struggling to find ways to help students
\nwho are deaf or hard of hearing access grade level curriculum for
\ngeneral education? Are they searching for new, innovative strategies
\nto help students perform at grade level standards and be successful on
\nstate assessment? Do you need to gain a broader and deeper knowledge
\nof effective instructional practices with students who are deaf or hard
\nof hearing? Are there parents you associate with that long to know
\nmore about how to successfully support their child’s education? Do you
\nknow interpreters and support staff who want to know more about the
\neducational needs, effective practices, and avenues to improve sign
\nlanguage communication and in class support needs with this population?
\nIf you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you should
\ninform and encourage them to attend The Statewide Conference on
\nEducation of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to be held at Westin Galleria
\nHouston in Houston, TX on July 30-August 1, 2012<\/p>\n

As Publicity and Public Relations Chairperson for The Statewide
\nConference on Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, I am writing
\nto inform you of this exciting, comprehensive conference. We are
\nmaking every attempt to inform parents of deaf\/hard of hearing children
\nand deaf education personnel across the United States about this
\noutstanding opportunity to gain valuable information designed to
\nimprove the success of students who are deaf and hard of hearing.<\/p>\n

This conference will offer professional development for deaf education
\nteachers, interpreters, support staff, professionals in the field of
\ndeafness, and parents in the areas of parent\/infant education,
\npreschool, listening and spoken language, signed communication,
\ninterpreting, audiology, speech, assessment, instructional delivery,
\nlow functioning deaf, transition, deaf studies, deaf culture, and legal
\nissues associated with the field of deafness. Special topics for
\nparent will also be available.<\/p>\n

In an effort to encourage parents who have children who are deaf\/hard
\nof hearing to attend the conference, special sessions that would be of
\nparticular interest to parents will be available. In addition, the
\nconference is providing child care for infants and specially designed
\nactivities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their
\nsiblings at an additional cost Additional information about these

This year, registration will be completed on line at
\nhttp:\/\/www.swced.org\/. On the website, individuals can continue to
\nfind additional information regarding the conference and conference
\nactivities. More details will be up and coming as the conference draws
\nnear.<\/p>\n

Attached you will find a flyer with comprehensive information about the
\nconference. For individuals who might be interested in presenting at
\nthe conference, a link to that section has been provided. There is
\nalso information for individuals who would be interested in
