Do you need to gain a broader and deeper knowledge<br \/>\nof effective instructional practices with students who are deaf or hard<br \/>\nof hearing? Are there parents you associate with that long to know<br \/>\nmore about how to successfully support their child&#8217;s education? Do you<br \/>\nknow interpreters and support staff who want to know more about the<br \/>\neducational needs, effective practices, and avenues to improve sign<br \/>\nlanguage communication and in class support needs with this population?<br \/>\nIf you answered &#8220;yes&#8221; to any of these questions, then you should<br \/>\ninform and encourage them to attend The Statewide Conference on<br \/>\nEducation of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to be held at Westin Galleria<br \/>\nHouston in Houston, TX on July 30-August 1, 2012<\/p>\n<p>As Publicity and Public Relations Chairperson for The Statewide<br \/>\nConference on Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, I am writing<br \/>\nto inform you of this exciting, comprehensive conference. We are<br \/>\nmaking every attempt to inform parents of deaf\/hard of hearing children<br \/>\nand deaf education personnel across the United States about this<br \/>\noutstanding opportunity to gain valuable information designed to<br \/>\nimprove the success of students who are deaf and hard of hearing.<\/p>\n<p>This conference will offer professional development for deaf education<br \/>\nteachers, interpreters, support staff, professionals in the field of<br \/>\ndeafness, and parents in the areas of parent\/infant education,<br \/>\npreschool, listening and spoken language, signed communication,<br \/>\ninterpreting, audiology, speech, assessment, instructional delivery,<br \/>\nlow functioning deaf, transition, deaf studies, deaf culture, and legal<br \/>\nissues associated with the field of deafness. Special topics for<br \/>\nparent will also be available.<\/p>\n<p>In an effort to encourage parents who have children who are deaf\/hard<br \/>\nof hearing to attend the conference, special sessions that would be of<br \/>\nparticular interest to parents will be available.
