CODA Author Kambri Crews Coming to Texas<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kambri Crews, CODA author of Burn Down the Ground: A Memoir (Random
\nHouse), will be signing books, taking questions from the audience, and
\nreading from her memoir at free events throughout Texas.<\/p>\n

Burn Down the Ground is Crews\u2019 powerful, affecting, and unflinching
\nmemoir about her unconventional childhood living with deaf parents in a
\ntin shed in rural Texas, and her attempts to reconcile that harrowing
\nchildhood to her present life\u2014one in which her father is serving a
\ntwenty-year sentence in a maximum-security prison for attempted murder.<\/p>\n

Crews now runs her own PR and production company in New York City. A
\nrenowned storyteller and public speaker, she has performed in New York
\nat The Moth\u2019s Mainstage, The 92Y, UCB Theatre, SXSW (South by
\nSouthwest) and given speeches at high schools, universities and
\nDeafHope, a nonprofit dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence
\nagainst deaf women and children.<\/p>\n

Crews\u2019s memoir has received rave reviews from publications including
\nPublishers Weekly, Booklist, Kirkus Reviews, Glamour, ELLE magazine,
\nand Library Journal. Crews will appear at the following events:<\/p>\n
