(see next line)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.preparingtexas.org\/ViewCourse.aspx?courseid=413effa3-ab6f-4dac-ad3a-6a2f856ff361\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.preparingtexas.org\/ViewCourse.aspx?courseid=413effa3-ab6f-4dac-ad3a-6a2f856ff361<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This statewide CERT TtT Course is available free of charge for the deaf<br \/>\nand hard of hearing community. Scholarship opportunities are available<br \/>\nfor one approved applicant from each COG region to attend from out of<br \/>\ntown. A stipend of up to $500 will be made available as funding allows.<br \/>\nFurther details will be made available to the approved applicants.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a general description of the course. This training will be<br \/>\nconducted by CERT Master Instructors from Centurion Solutions LLC<br \/>\nsupported by qualified\/certified interpreters and CART providers, and<br \/>\nwill be delivered with community outreach guidance as provided by DARS<br \/>\nand DARS\/Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS).<\/p>\n<p>Classes will be held at the Capital Area Council of Government Training<br \/>\nfacility, 6800 Burleson Rd., Building 130, Suite 165, Austin, TX 78744.<\/p>\n<p>G428: CERT Train-the-Trainer Course<\/p>\n<p>The new Train-the-Trainer Course focuses on preparing instructors to:<\/p>\n<p>* Deliver the CERT Basic Training Course accurately.<br \/>\n* Convey the messages and intent of the CERT Program (e.g., safety,<br \/>\nteamwork, place in overall community emergency operations plan).<br \/>\n* Assure that students achieve the objectives of the CERT Basic<br \/>\nTraining.<br \/>\n* Create a comfortable yet managed learning environment for CERT<br \/>\nparticipants.<\/p>\n<p>The audience for this three-day course includes current and prospective<br \/>\nCERT instructors, CERT course managers, and those who train CERT<br \/>\ninstructors.<\/p>\n<p>The audience for this course includes any professional or volunteer<br \/>\ninterested in becoming a local CERT instructor. Participants will<br \/>\ndevelop ideas to help start a new program or to revitalize an ongoing<br \/>\nprogram in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-Requisites:<\/p>\n<p>* IS 317 &#8211; Introduction to CERT Click here to take the IS 317 course<\/p>\n<p>* Attendance\/completion of the classroom training offered by local<br \/>\ngovernment agencies is highly encouraged.<\/p>\n<p>* Previous Instructor, Adult Education or Deaf Education experience.<\/p>\n<p>* Participants are also highly encouraged to become familiar with the<br \/>\nNational Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command<br \/>\nStructure (ICS). Courses to focus on include<br \/>\nIS 700, 800 and ICS 100, 200.<\/p>\n<p>Course Delivery<\/p>\n<p>The delivery of the CERT Train-the-Trainer Course will be offered as a<br \/>\nthree and a half day block of training. Participants must be present<br \/>\nall days to receive certificate of completion.
