Mike Ellis named Sprint Legends Award recipient<\/p>\n

Overland Park, Kansas, May 10, 2012 \u2013 Sprint (NYSE: S) today
\nannounced that Mike Ellis, Director \u2013 Relay Services, has received the
\nSprint Legends Award, one of the company\u2019s highest honors given to
\nselect Sprint leaders who significantly contribute to the company, the
\ntelecommunications industry and the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cEllis has become a recognized leader within the company and a
\nhigh-profile ambassador outside of Sprint in matters related to
\naccessibility, inclusion and diversity,\u201d said Dan Hesse, Sprint Chief
\nExecutive Officer.<\/p>\n

In October, Ellis testified before the U.S. Senate Health, Education,
\nLabor, and Pension Committee on his personal experiences with hearing
\nloss and also on Sprint’s accessibility leadership, especially for
\nemployees and customers who are Deaf, hard of hearing or have speech
\ndisabilities.<\/p>\n

Ellis and his team, many of whom are Deaf or hard of hearing, are
\nmobilizing the Relay experience by wirelessly enabling services that
\nwere formerly wireline-only. They have introduced industry leading IP
\nand Android apps available through a Sprint Relay ID pack to harness
\nthe power of Sprint\u2019s 3G and 4G wireless networks.<\/p>\n

Ellis also assembled the industry\u2019s first video-based Customer Service
\nteam to accommodate the communication needs of wireless customers who
\nare deaf or hard of hearing. He has been an invaluable resource and
\nsubject matter expert on an internal council that addresses diversity
\nand accessibility opportunities for Sprint.<\/p>\n
