BENEFIT CONCERT SUPPORTS STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS<\/strong><\/p>\n

LIVE MUSIC FOR A GOOD CAUSE \u2013 JUNE 2<\/p>\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 June 2, 2012 Tonight, SND Rocks \u2013 The 4th Annual Live Music Benefit for the Texas School for the Deaf\u2019s (TSD) Special Needs Department (SND), sponsored by Jovita\u2019s \u2013 brings music and fun for a great cause, starting at 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n

Tonight\u2019s event includes a plant sale and silent auction featuring items donated by local supporters such as James Avery Jewelry, Moonshine Bar & Grill, Whole Earth Provision Co., Becker Vineyards and more.<\/p>\n

Proceeds provide specialized classroom tools and equipment for TSD\u2019s SND students.<\/p>\n

A unique program in the continuum of services provided by the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD), the Special Needs Department (SND) educates and nurtures students from all over Texas who are not only deaf or hard of hearing, but have additional cognitive and\/or developmental challenges. This event supports these \u201cfighters and survivors\u201d by providing critical tools and equipment needed in SND classrooms at TSD.<\/p>\n

A musician himself, TSD\u2019s Assistant Principal of SND – Robert Solis, invites everyone to come out to enjoy great music at a great Austin venue in support of a very worthy cause.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a really special event to me, says Solis. Several of the musicians have participated with us each year. Many have connections to TSD as well. We\u2019re all friends, or friends of friends, who just enjoy getting together to do this to be part of a great cause.\u201d Solis will kick things off with his band, Mad Squirrel, at 8:00 pm.<\/p>\n
