{"id":18985,"date":"2012-06-07T13:02:33","date_gmt":"2012-06-07T18:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=18985"},"modified":"2012-06-08T01:14:19","modified_gmt":"2012-06-08T06:14:19","slug":"friends-rally-around-former-local-couple-whose-son-was-killed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2012\/06\/07\/friends-rally-around-former-local-couple-whose-son-was-killed\/","title":{"rendered":"Friends Rally Around Former Local Couple Whose Son Was Killed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Friends Rally Around Former Local Couple Whose Son Was Killed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reporter: Christopher Shadrock<\/p>\n<p>June 3, 2012<\/p>\n<p>WACO (June 2, 2012)&#8211;On April 14 everything changed for former Waco<br \/>\nresidents Joseph and Eva Keith.<\/p>\n<p>Their son, Timothy, 5, was killed when a taxi hit him while the family<br \/>\nwas visiting New York City.<\/p>\n<p>The Keith&#8217;s are deaf, as was their son.<\/p>\n<p>After attending Texas State Technical College, the Keiths recently<br \/>\nmoved to Washington, D.C. and were on a day trip to New York City when<br \/>\nthe accident occurred.<\/p>\n<p>Six weeks later, the deaf community of Central Texas held a fundraiser<br \/>\nSaturday at the Lion&#8217;s Den in Waco to help the family with funeral<br \/>\nexpenses and to remember the energetic little boy.<\/p>\n<p>Eva still mourns the loss of her son.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My son when we was gone I felt so bad, so much that it was like he was<br \/>\ngone and I cried.
